To become a User you are asked to provide personal and professional information. The information that you provide and any other information that is collected will remain confidential and private and is bound by the Privacy Act (Cth) 1988. Your personal information is used by Home Buddies to authenticate and validate identity for the purpose of supplying password, account, feedback, and other information. Your personal information is not passed on to third parties or other businesses without your express permission.

Home Buddies is obligated under the Privacy Act (Cth) 1988 to keep the information confidential and not disclose this information other than, for the purpose of background checks, to appropriate government agencies and other relevant sources in the activity of verifying a candidate's information.

Home Buddies may conduct checks regarding a candidates criminal record, working with children status, employment history and references, education, professional qualifications and memberships, residency and immigration status, driving records, claims, judgements and other relevant public records. Background checks will only be carried out with the candidate’s signed consent/s. In line with Equal Employment Opportunity principles and the Anti-discrimination Act 1977, information regarding age, race and gender does not factor into any decision regarding employment. This information is necessary for gathering and requesting information from appropriate government agencies or other sources for complete identification purposes.
